Workshop News
Coming soon, to a location possibly near you, are two workshops dedicated to creating a believable portrait painting (or drawing) of your favorite animal friend.

First, on Saturday May 10, is a one-day workshop I will be teaching at the Visual Arts of Livonia (VAAL) classroom in Livonia, Michigan. The title – and goal - of the workshop is “CAPTURING A PET’S LIKENESS”. This class is open to artists at all levels. This will be a fast-paced class to help an artist develop the skills at rendering an accurate image that your pet can be proud of! To find out how to do that, click http://kwoconnell.fineartstudioonline.com/workshops for more information and for a link to the VAAL site. Registration is open to VAAL members and non-members alike through the VAAL website or by phone.
Next, on July 28 and July 29, I will be teaching an expanded two-day workshop at the Glen Arbor Art Association’s Thoreson Farm studio. The title of this class, appropriately enough, is “PET PORTRAIT WORKSHOP”. If you will be in the vicinity of lovely Glen Arbor, Michigan at that time, come and learn to paint a realistic portrait of your favorite Fluffy, Fido, Bowser, Budgie or Trigger with instruction and the camaraderie of other artists. For more information, click http://kwoconnell.fineartstudioonline.com/workshops, where you can also follow the link to the GAAA’s website.
For artists and art lovers, there’s another reason to be in Glen Arbor. Art will be “in the air” that week as landscape painters from far and wide come to town for the wildly successful, annual Glen Arbor Paint Out and Sale on August 1 and 2.
